GOOD Bag (Get Out of Dodge)

GOOD Bag (Get Out of Dodge)

A couple of years ago I started to think more about this. Maybe all the TV shows and movies on the Zombie Apocalypse brought it on or maybe it’s just reading the news on any given day. It just seems to me that there is a lot of “anger” in the air, and anything is possible.

There is probably more of a chance of civil unrest than being invaded or being eaten by Zombies, but if all hell breaks loose, then what? We’re a country of gun owners, and what will they bad guys go for first? The water? Gas? Control the freeways and extort everyone? I really don’t know and anything is possible, but it did get me started on thinking about being prepared. It’s better to be safe than sorry, right?

So I started putting together my GOOD bag. Actually, it ends up being two backpacks, but this is what I have in mine:

I gave you links to Amazon, for easy reference. You should pick your favorites as we don’t have a relationship with any of these products, we just happen to like them.

This should give you a good start and you can then add and delete as you see fit. You should also consider your needs if other people will be with you.

Besides your GOOD bag, you should decide a meeting place ahead of time. If you are separated at the time of an “outbreak” from your spouse or children, where shall you meet? Remember, the cell waves will get really crowded and you might not be able to get through. If you have family in different cities and states, what’s the plan? Having your GOOD bag in your garage, waiting to go, is only a part of being prepared.

We hope no one really needs their GOOD bag, but if you do, you’ll be glad you put one together!
