The WetHoodie is another first from Malo’o. The patented WetHoodie is a type of hooded sweatshirt designed for use in wet or damp conditions, such as during water sports, fishing, or boating. It was designed in conjunction with fishing professionals and amateurs. The problem the WetHoodie solves is how to deal with freezing water and your arms. There are waders for your lower half, waterproof jackets to protect from the rain on cold, base layers to help insulate the body, but when it came to reaching into the freezing water to retrieve or catch and release the fish? Frozen arms were the usual result if you rolled up your sleeves. If you didn’t? Soaked sleeves and base layers were with you all day. Anyone who has gone fishing in the elements can tell you what freezing water rolling back up your arms fees like.
The patented WetHoodie solves this problem. The WetHoodie is comprised of 2mm neoprene arms, just like those on a wetsuit, with internal wrist tape to prevent water from rolling back up the arms. The neoprene provides an insulated thermal layer on the arms just like a wetsuit does for surfers. The body has several options depending upon if you are more interested in warmth or utility. Most WetHoodies are made from quick-drying materials, such as polyester, nylon and spandex, which allows it to dry quickly after being exposed to water. Other options include cotton & polyester blends which provide more warmth.
We’ve also added a convenient front tool pouch over the normal hoodie hand pouch. You can place your hands in the hand pouch for warmth and keep your pliers, phone, and other items in the tool pouch, ready for immediate use.
WetHoodies are also popular for kayaking, canoeing, boating, surf kayaking, and other water related activities. Customers who deep sea fish use them to protect their arms from the fish scales.
